Tang Ling Zhi from Lianshan Yonghe Town (19 years old): Parents are farmers but her father had to stop work due to sickness. Ling Zhi could not continue her studies and she started to work in 2003.

Li Shu Juan from Lianshan Yunghe Town : Shu Juan's father had to stop to work due to a car accident in 1998. Her mother is the financial support of the family. Due to financial difficulties, Shu Juan quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

Li Xiu Ji from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : due to financial difficulties, Xiu Ji worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Lin Bao Juan, age 17

Lin Bao Juan from Lianshan Hedong Town : Parents are farmers. In 2006, Bao Juan's house collapsed. Due to financial difficulties, her family was unable to support her studies. Bao Juan therefore quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

  Shu Meng Zhen, age 15

Shu Meng Zhen from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : due to financial difficulties, Meng Zhen worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Deng Yan Qin, age 15

Deng Yan Qin from Lianshan Yonghe Town : Parents are farmers and due to financial constraint, her family was unable to support her studies. Yan Qin therefore had to quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

  Huang Fu Xian, age 15

Huang Fu Xian from Lianshan Yonghe Town : Parents are farmers but her mother had to stop work due to sickness. Her family is in heavy debt due to accumulated medical expenses and purchasing of seeds for farming. Fu Xian could not continue her studies and she therefore had to suspend her schooling and work in Guangzhou.

  Huang Mei Hong, age 18

Huang Mei Hong from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : Mei Hong has a family of 10 members. Parents are farmers but her mother suffers from mental illness and is therefore unable to work. In order to lessen the financial burden on her family, she worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

Huang Pei Pei from Lianshan Jinzi Village : Parents are farmers. In order to lessen the financial burden on her family, she worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Huang Shao Lian, age 16

Huang Shao Lian from Lianshan Yonghe Town : Grandparents and parents are farmers. Due to financial difficulties, she left school after finishing F.1 and worked in Guangzhou.

  Liang Zhi Lian, age 17

Liang Zhi Lian from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : Zhi Lian's mother is a single mother and she is a farmer. Her grandfather is blind. Due to financial constraint, Zhi Lian decided to quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

  Luo Mei Lan, age 18

Luo Mei Lan from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : Parents are farmers but her mother had to stop work due to sickness. Mei Lan could not continue her studies. She therefore worked in Guangzhou.

  Mo Yue Xiu, age 16

Mo Yue Xiu from Lianshan Taibao Town : Yue Xiu's father is a farmer and he is the only financial support of the family. In order to lessen the burden on her family, she worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

Shu Hui from Lianshan Xiaosanjiang Town : Hui's family is supported by her father who is working in Shunde. Due to financial difficulties, Hui worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Shu Jie Lian, age 15

Shu Jie Lian from Lianshan Shangshi Town : Jie Lian's family is in debt due to her mother's medical expenses. Her family was unable to support her studies. She therefore has worked in Guangzhou .

  Tang Hai Ting, age 16

Tang Hai Ting from Lianshan Futang Town : Parents are farmers and, due to financial difficulties, her family was unable to support her studies. Hai Ting therefore has worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Wen Min Qing, age 16

Wen Min Qing from Lianshan Futang Town : Min Qing's mother passed away when she was young. She is now living with her uncle. He is a farmer. The family is in heavy debt due to her aunt's medical expenses. Min Qing could not continue her studies. She therefore has worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Dong Mei Ling, age 16

Dong Mei Ling from Lianshan Taibao Town : Parents are farmers. In order to lessen the financial burden on her family, she quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

  Dong Li Xia, age 17

Dong Li Xia from Xiaosanjiang Town : Parents are farmers. Due to financial difficulties, Li Xia quit school and worked in Guangzhou.

  Dong You Yan, age 15

Dong You Yan from Lianshan Taibao Town : Parents are farmers and, due to financial constraint, her family was unable to support her studies. You Yan therefore has worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Mo Dui Yan, age 16

Mo Dui Yan from Lianshan Futang Town : Parents are farmers but her mother had stopped work due to sickness. Dui Yan's father supports the family on his own and could not afford to pay for her studies. She therefore worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

  Liu Mei Xiang, age 15

Liu Mei Xiang from Lianshan Jitian Town : Mei Xiang is living with her mother and grandmother. Due to financial difficulties, Mei Xiang could not continue her studies. She therefore has worked in Shenzhen after quitting school.

Tang Se Juan from Lianshan Shangcao Town : Se Juan is living with her grandparents and they are farmers. Due to financial difficulties, her grandparents were unable to support her studies. She therefore has worked in Guangzhou after quitting school.

Tang Yi from Lianshan: Her parents do not have permanent jobs and due to financial difficulties, her family was unable to support her studies. Yi therefore has forced to work in Guangzhou.
